    Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary

    Spread across 777 sq.km, of which nearly 50% is thick evergreen forest, the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is a declared Tiger Reserve. It is one of the 48 tiger reserves in India. It is known for its scenic beauty and diverse wildlife and is surrounded by the Cardamom Hills.                 Gavi forest

It is a part of the Periyar Tiger Reserve; and is one of the major eco-tourism centres in Kerala. The journey to Gavi is itself an exciting, you will have to drive through the beautiful tea plantations, surrounded by mesmerizing hills, valleys, tropical forests, grasslands and spectacular waterfalls.
