        The Scandal Point

        Scandal Point is located along the western end of Shimla where the Mall road joins the Ridge road. It owes its interesting name to the fact that the King of Patiala abducted the daughter of the Viceroy, as he fell in love with her at this place. This is one of the favourite and the highest point in Shimla. One can relax here as there are many benches to sit and enjoy the beautiful view of the city. The Christ church Christ Church is located near the Mall Road. It is the second oldest church in North India. This majestic church provides a perfect picturesque background during snowfall.

          Jakoo Hill / Jakhoo Temple

          The top of the hill is 2 km away from ridge. The scenic hill of Jakhoo has the temple dedicated to Bhagwan Hanuman. The Jakhoo Temple has the worlds largest Hanuman statue, which is visible from most parts of Shimla. According to the legend, Lord Hanuman stopped at this spot to take some rest before resuming his search for the Sanjeevani Booti to revive Lord Lakshman.

            The Indian Institute of Advanced Studies located on the Observatory Hill is a majestic structure made with Victorian-style architecture. This magnificent building was built in 1888.                           Kalka is the nearest rail head, and it has regular trains from Chandigarh and Delhi.
                          From Kalka, you can enjoy the famous toy train that goes between Kalka and Shimla, covering a distance of 96 kilometres in about 7 hours.

                          Shimla has good road connectivity and can be reached by taxi/cabs or bus.
