    Description

Pushkar is a sacred town which has hundreds of Hindu temples. It is one of the five sacred dhams (pilgrimage site) for devout Hindus.

It's set on Pushkar Lake, a sacred Hindu site with 52 ghats (stone staircases) where pilgrims bathe. Pushkar lake is said to have been formed by a lotus flower dropped by Lord Brahma. Therefore the Brahma temple of Pushkar is the most popular tourist attraction.
Pushkar derives its name from the flower ("pushpa") falling from Brahma's hand ("kar").

Pushkar is also famous for its annual fair (Pushkar Camel Fair) held in November.

Pushkar is situated 14 km away from Ajmer
