    Description

    The Ancient City of Polonnaruwa is the second most ancient of Sri Lanka's kingdoms. It was the royal capital, of both the Chola and Sinhalese kingdoms, for three centuries.
    Today the ancient city of Polonnaruwa remains one of the best planned archaeological relic cities in the country. It is filmed in many movies and songs. It consists of hundreds of ancient structures – palaces, temples, tombs, statues etc.

    Polonnaruwa has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    Entry costs a US$25, half priced for kids 6-12 and free for under 6’s.
