    Orchha is a beautiful town in Madhya Pradesh, bordered by the holy Betwa River. It was founded in the 16th century by renowned Bundela Rajput chieftain, Rudra Pratap.

    Orchha, used to be the capital of the mighty Bundela Rajput kings. Every monument and every part of the city spells the rich history of the past.

    Orchha literally means ‘hidden place’ and is famous for its world class Mural Paintings.

            Ram Raja temple

            Ram Raja temple, which is a very famous temple in Orchha was earlier a palace. This palace turned temple is the only place in which Rama is worshipped as a king and not a God. The Lord Rama idol present here, was supposed to be installed in the magnificent Chaturbhuj temple. Legend has it that the idols refused to move after being installed here and so a temple was built around it.
