    Description

    Mahabaleshwar is a popular hill station located in the Western Ghats range of Maharashtra. Its one of the few region with evergreen forests (tropical rain forests) of India.

    This beautiful place is bounded by valleys on all sides and serves as a perfect weekend getaway for people from Pune and Mumbai. 

    This charming hill station is the source of the Krishna River. And it reaches a height of 4,721 ft, at its highest peak above sea level, known as Wilson or Sunrise Point. 

    The pleasant climate of Mahabaleshwar, allows it to grow 85 percent of the total strawberry production of the country.

      Pratapgad

      The historic fort of Pratapgad is a popular tourist attractions of Mahabaleshwar. The fort was built by Shivaji Maharaj and is popular in the tales of Indian history, due to famous Battle of Pratapgad - where Shivaji Maharaj killed Afzal Khan and defeated his army despite being outnumbered. The fort was strategically placed on a hill-top and was surrounded by dense forest.           Needle Hole Point / Elephant’s Head point

          Needle Hole Point is the most photographed place of Mahabaleshwar. One can see a natural rock formation with a hole in between, thus giving the name Needle-hole.
