    Kodaikanal is referred to as the "Princess of Hill stations" and is one of the  popular tourist destination. It stands 7200 feet above sea level with mesmerizing views throughout the year.

    Kodaikanal Lake / Kodai Lake

    Kodaikanal Lake is an artificial lake spread on 60 acres. This star-shaped lake was built in 1863 and is one of the popular tourist destination. There are many ways to enjoy this beautiful lake - you can take a boat ride, a horse ride, rent a bicycle or walk along the periphery of this lovely lake. The outflow from the Kodai Lake has given birth to a 180-feet tall waterfall called Silver Cascade, which too is a popular tourist spot.

      Bryant's park

      Bryant's park is close to the lake and is a wonderfully maintained 20 acres of botanical garden. It has 325 species of trees, nearly 740 varieties of roses, an old Eucalyptus tree of 1857, a Bodhi tree and many noted flowers. There is a glass house in the park which displays fine varieties of flowers. A flower Show is conducted every year during the month of May, which attracts lots of people.

        Coakers Walk

        Coakers Walk is a 1 kilometre long pathway constructed on the slopes of a hillock and is one of the most serene places to visit. It is situated half a km from the city and was constructed in 1872. This kilometre long walk provides the most picturesque views of the hills and a rare phenomenon where your shadow is cast on the clouds that envelop the area called ‘Brocken Spectre’ can be witnessed.             Berijam Lake

            Berijam Lake is a interesting picturesque lake located of around 20 km from Kodaikanal. Forest department permission is required to visit the lake as it is situated in core forest area. Entry is restricted into the Berijam Lake area to between 9.30 a.m. and 3 p.m; as it is prime water source for wild animals. Bison, deer, panthers and snakes are often spotted in this area. The fire tower, Silent Valley, Medicine Forest, and Lake View are other attractions around the lake. Medicine Forest has a certain species of trees whose fragrance is believed to be having hallucinogenic effects. To enter into the Berijam Lake permission must be obtained from the Forest Department. Usually they give permission around 8 a.m. every day except on Tuesdays. They give permission to about 80 to 100 vehicles per day and collect the entry fee of around Rs.150 depending upon the vehicle.

                Guna caves / Devil's Kitchen

                Guna caves are deep bat-infested chambers between the three gigantic boulders of Pillar Rocks. It is also known as Devils Kitchen, because it is a hidden ravine and has a deep fall but it looks like a small gutter which makes it more prone to the accidents. The entry inside the deep narrow ravines of the caves is now restricted; due to the many tragic deaths that have occurred here. Now the tourists can see some sections of the cave system from a far distance.
