    Charminar

    Charminar is the most iconic monument of Hyderabad. The monument got its name as it consists of four minarets. Four graceful minarets soar to a height of 48.7 m above the ground. It was built in 1591 by Sultan Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah. It has 45 prayer spaces and a mosque in it. This architectural splendor lies in the heart of the city. The shopping area around the monument offers products for cheap rates.

      Golkonda Fort / Golconda Fort

      Golkonda Fort is a massive fortress, which is currently in ruins. It reminds the rich history of the city. The fort was first built by Kakatiya dynasty later developed by Qutub Shahi Kings. Qutub Shahi Dynasty, gained popularity for producing some of the finest gems the world - including the Koohinoor. The fort is very massive and it would take atleast half day to explore it. Some of the attractions are - royal palaces, whispering walls, Rahban cannon, Ramdas prison, Water supply system. The fort comes to life at the evenings, when the sound and light show depicts the glorious past of this Fort. The fort derives its name from the Telugu words “Golla Konda” meaning “Shepherd’s Hill”.
