    Chail is an exotic hill station at a distance of 103kms from Chandigarh and 45 kms from Shimla, and is an perfect spot spend a weekend. 
    Chail is spread across three hillocks — Rajgarh, Pandewa and Sadh Tiba, covering an area of over 72 acres.

    It is known for the world's highest cricket ground and the famous Chail Palace, which is in the midst of pine and deodar trees.

    Surrounded by lush greenery and mesmerizing views from such a great height, it is famously known as a hiker's paradise. Once you will reach to Chail, you can enjoy scenic views of Himalayas with clear views of lightnings of Shimla and Kasauli.

    This beautiful hill station was once the summer retreat of the Maharaja of Patiala and it now serves as a calm and relaxed destination for everyone to enjoy.

     

    Chail, along with Kufri and Shimla is called the Golden Triangle of Himachal Pradesh.

    Chail Wildlife Sanctuary

    Chail Wildlife Sanctuary is situated on the outskirts of Chail that overlooks the Sutlej Valley. It is situated in the Himalayan ranges at a height of 7152 feet and sprawls over 110 sq km. It is one of the most well-maintained wildlife sanctuaries and has a rich collection of flora and fauna and has magnificent views.

      Chail palace, is set in approximately 75 acres of land, was built in 1891. The palace is also known as Maharaja of Patiala palace.             Cricket Ground

            Chail has the highest cricket ground in the world, situated at an altitude of 2144 m. This ground is now maintained by the Army and civilians are not allowed to enter the ground. One can only look and walk around the area. It was setup by Maharaja Bhupender Singh, who was a cricket enthusiast.

              Kandaghat is the nearest narrow gauge railway station from Chail, which is about 30 kms from Chail.  

               

              By Road
              Traveling to Chail by own transport is a convenient option to travel to Chail. 
              It takes about 4 - 5 hours on a taxi to Chail from Chandigarh. 
              There are frequent buses to Chail from Shimla, Chandigarh or Ambala.
