Bodh Gaya is a religious site and place of pilgrimage in Bihar's Gaya district.
It is the famous place where Gautama Buddha is said to have obtained Enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree.

Mahabodhi Temple complex contains the famous Mahabodhi Temple with the diamond throne (called the Vajrasana) and the holy Bodhi tree. It is believed that about 280 years after the Enlightenment of the Buddha, Emperor Ashoka visited Bodh Gaya, and he built the original Mahabodhi temple.
The temple is 55 metres and the current temple structure has undergone many renovations.

Cankamana is famous pathway in Mahabodhi Temple complex. This was the pathway which was used by Buddha during Buddha’s third week of meditation. It was at this spot that he practised walking meditation which is also called Cankamana. It is believed that wherever Buddha put his feet lotuses sprang up.
